Chess: Game of Kings, The Pawn

As a small project over the weekend, I had the thought of a game that used a chessboard as a battleground where you play chess as usual but when the pieces clash you have to do a battle. Some sort of mix between a RTS game and a third-person action title, since having a playable character is always fun. Chess as a game has always fascinated me so a game that uses chess as the backdrop for the action seemed like a great idea to concept.
I made the weapons and helmets first; the helmets being based on chess pieces and the profile of the game pieces and the weapons being themed off what the piece does. No real historical reference here, mostly just what would look cool.
These were a lot of fun and I may continue this project in the future.
